    1. DAY 1: CHIANG KHONG (THAILAND) - CROSS THE BORDER TO LAOS - HOUAY XAI - PAK BENG

Today you'll cross the border into Laos and drive to Houay Xai. There you'll board a boat which will take you on an adventurous journey across the Mekong to Pak Beng. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Pak Beng serves as a stopover for those en route to Luang Prabang.

      Meals included: No meals.

    2. DAY 2: PAK BENG - PAK OU - LUANG PRABANG

In the morning you'll get back on the boat and continue your journey to Luang Prabang. Along the way you'll see the famous caves of Pak Ou, which are only accessible from the water. In the Tham Thing Cave Temple and the Tham Phoum cave you'll find thousands of Buddha statues of all shapes, sizes, and ages. The faithful have been coming here to erect these statues for centuries. Even before these caves became Buddhist shrines, locals worshipped river gods here.

      Meals included: Breakfast.

    3. DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG - FREE & EASY

If you wake up early you can witness the 'alms of the monks', a truly fascinating experience. At half past five every morning hundreds of monks go through the streets and take alms from the faithful. The number of temples and pagodas in this area is evidence of the religiosity of the people.

      Meals included: Breakfast.

    4. DAY 4: LUANG PRABANG TOUR

Today we recommend taking a walk in the old town of Luang Prabang. Here you can admire many beautiful temples. Some of the most noteworthy temples include the Wat Mahathat from 1548, the magnificent Wat Xieng Thong, the Wat May, and the Wat Sene, which is built in the typical Laotian style. You should also check out the former Royal Palace, which now houses the collections of the National Museum. The Mount Phou Si Temple also offers a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
Overnight at hotel in Luang Prabang.
      Meals included: Breakfast.

    5. DAY 5: LUANG PRABANG - VIENTIANE BY ROAD TRIP

Today we'll make our way south to Vientiane, the capital of Laos. The scenic journey through the mountains takes about ten hours. Once you've arrived in Vientiane you can spend the rest of the day exploring the city. We recommend taking a stroll through the city centre before visiting the must-see attractions: the Ho Pha Keo, the Wat Si Saket, the Wat Si Muang, and the Pha That Luang. In the markets you can sample many unique local dishes.

    6. DAY 6: VIENTIANE - SAVANNAKETH BY ROAD TRIP

Your journey today will take you even further south, from Vientiane to Savannaketh, the second largest city in Laos. The journey takes about eight hours. In town, you can admire the colonial buildings in the Old City, the Ho Mahesak Khanthaboury - where the guardian spirit of the city is worshipped, or the ornate Wat Sayaphoum.

    7. DAY7: SAVANNAKETH - CROSS THE BORDER TO VIETNAM - HUE

At the heart of the city the famous citadel, which encloses the royal city, still stands.
